Each day starting at 16:55 AEDT, the Australian War Memorial bids farewell to visitors with its moving Last Post Ceremony. The Ceremony begins with the singing of the Australian National Anthem, followed by the poignant strains of a Lament, played by a piper. Visitors are invited to lay wreaths and floral tributes beside the Pool of Reflection. At the Ceremony to be held on 21st June 2019 the story of 4783 Private James Ross Duperouzel 51st Battalion AIF, whose name is on the Roll of Honour, will be told. The Ode is then recited, and the Ceremony ends with the sounding of the Last Post.
