Inspired by the plans of Nokturnl, the popular Western Australian hospitality group, to develop the former South Perth Police Station at 1, Mends Street, into a bar and restaurant, the author has documented some childhood memories of when his family resided in the living quarters there during the period his father, Police Sergeant Alexander Duperouzel, was the Officer-in-Charge.
Other important strands of historical information appertaining to this beautiful heritage property have been incorporated to enhance the pleasure of readers.
The book is being launched in the UK on the 16th September 2023, the 122nd anniversary of the birth of the author’s father and will be available from the South Perth Historical Society from 23rd October.
