GGF Aimable Ciril Duperouzel, a pioneer of York, Western Australia loved to exhibit his horses at the York Agricultural Show. These horses were bred on his family farm at Qualen, near York. This photo is believed to have been taken in the late 1880s / early 1890s and shows Aimable, known in the York district as John the Frenchman,  proudly holding one of his prize horses. Note the branding on the right shoulder with the letter ‘D’.
